This project comprised a two storey side extension, a single storey front extension, and internal remodelling which would transform this quaint corner plot into a spacious family home, with a focus on entertaining.
Birch Grove Engineering managed all parts of investigation and design, organising and facilitating investigation of services, soils, foundations and masonry. This relieved the client of a considerable amount of stress and worry as we provided a single point of contact for all structure related design.
We worked closely with the client and builder to keep build cost and disruption to an absolute minimum whilst more than doubling the footprint of the house with a two storey side, single storey front, and single storey rear extension.
We were brought onto this project late once unexpected problems arose with the drainage, foundations and structure and we were able to add a single storey side and rear extension which satisfied all parties.
The timber merchant’s premises are made up of buildings with unique, historic timber roof structures. When the Client wanted to add solar panels to the roof they appointed Birch Grove Engineering to assess and strengthen the existing roofs.
