Jonny Hirst, the founder of Birch Grove Engineering, is a highly experienced structural engineer with a Master’s Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield. With over a decade of experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects, Jonny’s passion lies in problem-solving and creating elegant, efficient solutions for complex engineering challenges.
Jonny’s expertise is matched by his role as a lecturer at the University of Sheffield, where he teaches students about the reuse of existing buildings and leads large-scale design projects. When he’s not working, Jonny enjoys exploring Sheffield with his family, participating in church activities, or running in the Peak District.
Georges Moss is a seasoned engineer with a strong focus on sustainable development. After moving to Sheffield in 2011 to study Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Sheffield, Georges built his career by leading and mentoring young engineers in sustainable design principles. As a chartered engineer with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), Georges brings invaluable experience, particularly in the residential sector, where he has worked with leading national housebuilders.
Georges is also developing innovative software aimed at reducing both the financial costs and carbon emissions of engineering projects. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the outdoors with his new puppy in the Peak District.
